From The Principal’s Desk
Congratulations Mrs. Shank!
On Friday, September 18, 2009, Mrs. Shank received an award for 30 years of service for teaching at Lock Haven Catholic School and the Altoona/Johnstown Diocese. She has touched the lives of many students, parents, and fellow teachers and staff. Thank you Mrs. Shank for your “time”, dedication, friendship, and love you have given us all, over the past 30 years. You are an inspiration to us! To Eat or Not to Eat...
I have been approached with some concerns by our lunchroom staff and volunteers. Some students are not eating their lunches...the lunches that are brought from home as well as school lunches. Our lunchroom staff and volunteers do a great job trying to encourage the students to eat. The excuse that they are given most often for why they are not eating their lunch, “I don’t like what I have.”
Students need to eat a healthy, complete lunch in order to function throughout the afternoon. In order to do that, you might want to consider:
- If your child packs, get his/her input on what goes in the lunch, but also help to guide him/her in order to make some healthy choices.
- Even though it is convenient to have your child buy lunch, if your child does not like the meal being offered that day, consider packing a lunch for your child.
Considering these things will not only make your child happier, but it will also help them to stay healthier.
