Who were the Pilgrims?

on ship

The Pilgrims were a group of religious people who wanted to love and obey God in their own way.

They were not allowed to do this in their country of England and they decided they had to leave.

The Pilgrims found some other brave people who wanted to start a new life.
Together 102 people left England in September 1620 on a ship called the Mayflower.
